December in Sugar Land

Tinsel strewn across chandeliers

Hot chocolate served with booze

It’s  getting nippy in here

And there are “miracles” on the news

Young families huddle close

Whispering about reindeer

There’s more layers to their clothes

And more pockets full of cheer

Young couples are even closer

Whispering about cupid and vixen

But he barely knows her

So they’ll both be getting blitzen

Welcome to Sugar Land, December

I hope you enjoy your stay

No one will neglect to remember

To try and light your way

I can’t believe you’ve already come

And you’ll be gone before I know

So I’ll enjoy the feeling and the numb

If you promise to bring the snow
